The bagua (八卦) is an energy map of your space. Traditional methods use a compass and complicated directions. Here's a simpler way.

The Front-Door Method

1. Stand at your front door, facing into your home.
2. The wall you're facing is the "front" of your bagua (Career/Kan).
3. The wall behind you (same direction as the door) is the "back" (Fame/Li).
4. Left wall from your position = Wealth/Family side.
5. Right wall = Helpful People / Creativity side.

For L-Shaped or Irregular Apartments

Mentally "complete" the shape into a rectangle. The missing area still corresponds to a bagua sector — the missing parts are called "missing corners" and each has a specific cure.
