Mian Xiang (面相), or Chinese face reading, is a sophisticated system that reads a person's character and destiny through facial features. The face is divided into 12 palaces, each governing a different aspect of life.

The Three Sections (三停)

The face is divided into three horizontal sections, representing three life stages:

  2. Wealth Palace (财帛宫) — The nose. A straight, fleshy nose with visible nostrils = good wealth flow. A narrow or crooked nose = financial obstacles.
  3. Brothers Palace (兄弟宫) — Eyebrows. Thick, long eyebrows = good relationships with siblings.
  4. Spouse Palace (夫妻宫) — Outer corners of eyes (鱼尾). Smooth, unwrinkled = happy marriage.
  5. Children Palace (子女宫) — Area below eyes. Fleshy, bright = good children fortune.
  6. Health Palace (疾厄宫) — Base of nose (山根). High, straight = good health.
  7. Travel Palace (迁移宫) — Forehead corners. Prominent = success traveling or working abroad.
  8. Career Palace (官禄宫) — Center of forehead. Broad, smooth = career advancement.
  9. Property Palace (田宅宫) — Upper eyelids area. Full, bright = real estate luck.
  10. Wealth Management (奴仆宫) — Lower chin area. Rounded = ability to manage subordinates.
  11. Self Palace (相貌宫) — Overall face balance. Balanced features = balanced life.
