Bedroom Feng Shui for Better Sleep

Your bed position is the single most impactful feng shui adjustment you can make.

I've slept in 12 different bedrooms across 8 apartments. The difference between a room that drains you and one that restores you comes down to three things — and none of them require buying anything.

1. The Commanding Position

This is the #1 rule in bedroom feng shui: you want to see the door from your bed, but not be directly in line with it.

The ideal: your bed is diagonal from the door, with a solid wall behind the headboard. You can see anyone entering, but you're not the first thing they see.

How to find yours:

  1. Stand at your bedroom door. Look at the wall diagonal to the door. That's where your bed should go.
  2. If your bed is directly in line with the door ("coffin position"), move it even 30 degrees.
  3. If you can't move it, place a tall dresser or screen between the door and bed as a visual shield.

2. Mirror Placement

3. Quick Fix Checklist

Most people fix their bed position and see improvement within 3 nights. Try it tonight.
