The Wealth Corner: What Actually Works

3 years, 3 apartments, and $60 in failed experiments. The $15 setup that actually doubled my income in 2 months.

Every feng shui blog talks about the wealth corner. Buy this crystal. Place it here in this direction. But I'm a skeptic. I needed to test it myself.

So I did. For three years, across three different apartments, I tested different wealth corner configurations. I spent about $60 on various cures (crystals, fountains, coins, plants). Most did nothing. One changed everything.

First, Find Your Wealth Corner

Using the front-door method of the bagua:

  1. Stand at your front door, facing into your home.
  2. The far left corner of the main floor is your wealth area. In feng shui, this is the Xun (巽) position.
  3. If your home is L-shaped, mentally complete the rectangle. The missing corner is still part of the bagua.

If your wealth corner is a bathroom, a kitchen, or a storage closet, this is considered a "leaking wealth" situation. The fix: keep the door closed, keep it clean, and add a wind chime or mirror outside the door to redirect energy.

The Experiments (What Didn't Work)

SetupDurationCostResult
Citrine crystal on a shelf3 months$12No change. Pretty but inert.
Purple decor items (color cure)2 months$8No effect. Color alone doesn't activate wealth chi.
Small tabletop fountain4 months$25Slight improvement? Maybe $200 extra one month. But maintenance was annoying.
Chinese coins tied with red ribbon3 months$5Nothing noticeable.
Lucky bamboo plant alone2 months$10Plant stayed healthy. Wallet stayed the same.

What Actually Worked

Total cost: ~$15 | Setup time: 10 minutes
1. A healthy green plant (snake plant or jade plant — both survive anything)
2. A small round mirror placed behind the plant, facing into the room
3. A red envelope with a coin inside, hidden under the pot

The Results

I set this up in my second apartment, in the far left corner of the living room. I had just finished a dry spell where I'd made about $1,800 in a month (my lowest ever).

Month 1: $2,400 (a normal month)
Month 2: $3,800 (a good month)
Month 3: $4,200 (my best month ever at the time)

I didn't change my rates. I didn't work more hours. Clients simply started appearing — referrals, inbound inquiries, repeat business. One client told me "I don't know why, but I felt I should reach out to you."
